‘The Dock’

Hurley Palmer Flatt has recently completed ‘The Dock’ project located in the East India Dock in London for an undisclosed client.

This complex engineering project encompassed the construction of a new five storey 62,000 sq.ft. External Utilities Building, known colloquially as ‘The Dock’. Works also included twin high level link bridges connecting The Dock to the Docklands Technical Centre.

The new building is located over a former graving dry dock, adjacent to the Thames and extending over the Crossrail running tunnels being constructed at the same time.

Hurley Palmer Flatt’s Structural and Civil Engineering team worked closely with the Contractor Structure Tone to adjust the piling positions ‘live’ as work proceeded.
