Croydon College Apprenticeship Fair
On the 5th of March, Rakhi Patel and Allia Ghalib from our HR department attended the Croydon College Apprenticeship Fair. The fair took place during National Apprenticeship Week, a Government initiative to encourage the pursuit of apprenticeships and celebrate the impact they can have on individuals, employers and the economy. Following the success of our GATES Scheme for Graduates, the Hurley Palmer Flatt Group are broadening horizons and launching the HPF Apprenticeship scheme.
Our attendance at the Croydon College event was to introduce students to the company, raise awareness of our GATES scheme and employment opportunities it offers. This was to also increase our presence in the Croydon community ahead of our Purley office’s relocation to the town. Additionally, we have pledged to be an employer of choice in Croydon as part of Croydon Council and Croydon College’s, ‘100 apprentices in 100 days’ scheme, which is urging businesses to engage with apprentices.
Those who choose to start on the Engineering path through an apprenticeship are given the best of both worlds, with their class-based studies and their practical ‘on the job’ experience. This gives apprentices the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skillset, while gaining work experience that can give them an edge of university students, all while earning at the same time.
An Apprenticeship with us at Hurley Palmer Flatt would offer the individual the chance to work for a multi-national business and to learn from some of the best Engineers in the industry. Nurturing young talented engineers through their integration into the Engineering world would help the company to uphold our Corporate Social Responsibility, as well as helping to bring the future leaders of the industry into our company.
