Hurley Palmer Flatt have been term consultants to The National Gallery for over 30 years. Works have primarily focused on: planned lifetime plant replacement, energy efficiency measures, change of use, new build construction works and that associated with architectural refurbishment works. Recent works (2010-2015) undertaken have included:

  • Installation of a new 800kW gas fired CHP plant including ventilation, flue, automatic controls and connection to heating and electrical systems
  • Replacement of existing central heating plant including 3.4MW of dual fired boilers, flues, primary and secondary pumps, electrical services and automatic controls
  • Refurbishment of galleries incorporating ventilation, lighting, fire alarm and security control replacement
  • Gallery roof replacement works incorporating condensation control, lighting replacement and natural daylight blind control
  • New build office construction to accommodate term contractors, including ventilation, air conditioning, automatic controls, lighting and small power, fire alarm, security, domestic hot and cold water and waste drainage services
  • Redevelopment of existing internal spaces to create a new function suite, including ventilation, air conditioning, automatic controls, lighting and small power, fire alarm, security, domestic hot and cold water and waste drainage services
