hurleypalmerflatt's Energy & Sustainability Seminar,"The Green Chip Enterprise"; Promotes Business as the critical driver for sustainable solutions

Over 60 clients and key influencers attended this seminar at the Institute of Energy & Technology (IET) in London on the 17th April. Representing the client, Chris Sweetland, Deputy Finance Director for WPP, reviewed WPP’s strategic approach to sustainability and what practical steps the firm was taking across their worldwide portfolio of offices. Dr. David Telford, from hurleypalmerflatt’s sustainability consultancy, defined the need for corporations to understand the financial imperatives for sustainability beyond the token “coke cans and toner cartridges” approach of many firms. The last speaker, Professor Saffa Riffat from the University of Nottingham’s School of the Built Environment, reviewed the real world applications of his sustainability research in to low cost housing, retrofitting of energy efficient heating and cooling in existing buildings, and a host of technologies available today to reduce carbon footprints.
